I have been here in Umbria for the past week, situated on rolling hills and panoramic views. We are here staying with friends in Panicale, a charming small town in the region with a delicious food scene and relaxed atmosphere. There is a sense of ease here so hard to feel at home or in the states. Panicale is home to many expats but has a distinctly small Italian town feeling and community. It’s never overly busy, the food is delicious but it is also very elegant with vistas at every turn and a quiet peacefulness. The Rastrello is a beautifully done boutique hotel in town with a beautiful patio to sit for drinks or dinner I will stay there in a week or so and can report more about that. Today I will write about a few day and overnight trips we have taken to nearby towns.
